    Professor Jaspreet Dhupia from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Auckland University visited Peking University as a New Zealand Centre fellow. On the 22nd of October, he presented his seminar entitled “Improving Performance and Reliability of Mechatronic Systems Using Modelling and Control Strategies.” The seminar was held at the Intelligent Control Lab, located in the Centre for Systems and Control, and was hosted by Professor Haixia Zhang from Institute of Micro Electronics, Peking University.     Dr Gillian Skryme from Massey University offered her two lectures to the New Zealand History and Culture students at Peking University. In her Linguistic Landscape lecture she explained how language pertains to New Zealand’s history and current make-up.     Auckland University of Technology’s professor of electric engineering, Tek Lie visited Peking University for the first time through the New Zealand Centre Fellowship. This opportunity allowed him to share his ideas on managing risks to nation-wide electric grids, and also take in ideas from Peking University scholars on energy production and global distribution.
