The New Zealand Centre at Peking University is pleased to announce that Massey University, Lincoln University and the Auckland University of Technology have accepted the invitation to join the Centre’s Advisory Board. They join the five other New Zealand Universities already on the Board, (namely the Universities of Auckland, Waikato, Canterbury and Otago and Victoria University of Wellington) Education New Zealand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Ministry of Business, Employment and Innovation has also been welcomed on to the Board.

Professor Jenny Dixon, Chair of the Advisory Board, says that having all eight New Zealand Universities on the Board is significant as it signals the commitment of New Zealand universities to deepening New Zealand’s connections with China.

“There is considerable research activity that is being undertaken by New Zealand researchers in China. So this development means that we will be able to strengthen collaborative opportunities for New Zealand researchers engaging in China and increase our level of interaction with Chinese colleagues in partner universities, government and the business sector. It will also assist the dissemination of knowledge across a broad range of disciplines which will be beneficial for both countries”.
