Peking University Delegation Visits University of Auckland & Massey University
20/03/24 --- Early March, 2024, Peking University delegation headed by President Gong Qihuang visited University of Auckland and Massey University, where they conducted in-depth exchanges to further promote academic exchanges and collaboration.
Led by President Gong Qihuang, Peking University delegation visited the University of Auckland and Massey University early March, 2024, where both sides conducted in-depth exchanges to further promote academic exchanges and collaboration. At the University of Auckland, President Gong Qihuang met with his counterpart Vice Chancellor Professor Dawn Freshwater, who had visited Peking University in September 2023. The two parties reviewed the long-term fruitful collaboration on the basis of New Zealand Centre at Peking University since 2007 and discussed how to strengthen the existing relation of collaboration in new fields such as digital education on the platform of DI-IDEA, AI innovation, and South Pacific studies.

Peking University delegation also visited Massey University, when President Gong Qihuang met with Professor Cynthia White Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Massey University. On the basis of a wide range of successful programmes of collaboration including the renowned Three-Brother Programme, both parties expressed shared willingness to further strengthen the exiting cooperation in the fields of agriculture, green economy, and sustainable development and to initiate new fields of collaboration in industrial design and low-altitude economy on the platform of New Zealand Centre at Peking University.
Peking University Delegation Meets with Representative of Massey University
During PKU Delegation’s visit to New Zealand, President Gong Qihuang and his colleagues also paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy to New Zealand and met with Ambassador Hon. Wang Xiaolong. President Gong acknowledged the long-term support of the Chinese Embassy in terms of Peking University’s engagement of collaboration with New Zealand universities. Both parties also explored new possibilities of promoting educational and academic relationship between Peking University and New Zealand partners.
