Professor Richard Blaikie of Otago University Visits Peking University
8/06/2018 – New Zealand Centre at Peking University hosted the visit of Professor Richard Blaikie, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) of Otago University, along with his colleague Ms Cici Xiao He. Professor Richard Blaikie, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) of Otago University, and his colleague Ms Cici Xiao He visited New Zealand Centre at Peking University on the morning of 8 June,2018. As Director of New Zealand Centre, Professor Liu Shusen welcomed DVC Professor Blaikie and Ms He and had a meeting with them, reviewing the engagement of the University of Otago as a founding member of New Zealand Centre and the accomplished projects of collaboration between Peking University and Otago University.
DVC Professor Blaikie also introduced Otago’s new collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University in the programme of Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). The DBA programme is intended to meet the fast growing need for a doctoral level qualification in business with direct and practical industry applications. The innovation of the programme lies in that DBA is offered by Otgo University, while the courses are distance taught online bilingually, in Chinese and English, plus on-campus workshops in both Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Otago University. Both DVC Professor Blaikie and Professor Liu Shusen also discussed possibilities of initiating new programmes of collaboration between Otago University and Peking University, including the commercialization of scientific research findings.
