  • NZC Welcomes Pro Vice-Chancellor of Massey University Professor Ray Geor

     

    03/05/2018 - New Zealand Centre at Peking University welcomed Pro Vice-Chancellor of Massey University Professor Ray Geor and Mr Michael O’Shaughnessy, Director of International Relations at Massey.


    On 3 May, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Massey University Professor Ray Geor visited New Zealand Centre at Peking University in the company of his colleague Mr Michael O’Shaughnessy, Director of International Relations at Massey. As Director of New Zealand Centre, Professor Liu Shusen welcomed PVC Professor Geor and Mr O’Shaughnessy and had a productive meeting with them in the office of NZC.

    The meeting began with a review of the long-term relation of collaboration between Peking University and Massey University, including the three-brother programme in association with Xinjiang Shihezi University. The annual course “New Zealand History and Culture” was also highlighted in the meeting. Professor Liu thanked Massey University for the tremendous support to the course, especially the teaching team under the leadership of Head of the Humanities Mr Kerry Taylor.  As Professor Ray Geor is Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Sciences at Massey University, the meeting focused on possibilities of how to further collaboration in sciences, such as possible collaboration with the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences. 


    PVC Professor Geor and Mr Michael O’Shaughnessy were invited to attend the 120th anniversary of Peking University on 4 May.
