  • The University of Auckland Delegation Visits Peking University

     

    03/09/2019 -- The University of Auckland delegation headed by Vice Chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon visited Peking University and had a productive meeting with President Hao Ping of Peking University and a team of PKU faculty leaders and academics. 

     

    On September 3, a senior delegation of The University of Auckland headed by Vice Chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon paid an official visit to Peking University. The delegates consisted of Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Jenny Dixon, Director of North Asia CAPE (Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence) Professor Paul Clark, and Mr. Fu Weidong as China Representative of The University of Auckland.

    President Hao Ping of Peking University warmly welcomed Vice Chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon and his delegation and both leaders of the two universities had a meeting to review the existing relations of collaboration and discuss some of the new projects including the establishment of the Rewi Alley Professorship programme at Peking University. The meeting was attended by Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Jenny Dixon, Professor Paul Clark, and Mr. Fu Weidong of The University of Auckland, and some representatives of Peking University, including Vice President Professor Gong Qihuang, Director of the Office of Scientific Research Professor Zhang Ning, Vice Director of the Graduate School Professor Jiang Guohua, Vice Director of Office of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Wu Jiewei, Director of the Office of International Relations Dr Xia Hiongwei, and Director of New Zealand Centre Professor Liu Shusen.

     

    Prior to the presidential meeting, the delegates of The University of Auckland had a meeting with members of New Zealand Centre at Peking University and discussed some of the initiatives for the future collaboration.
