Massey University Professor Murray Potter Visits NZC
29/08/2019 – Professor of Ecology Murray Potter from Massey University visited the New Zealand Centre at Peking University in the hope of establishing academic relationship with PKU in the fields of zoology, ecology, and environmental science.
On 29 August, Professor Potter visited New Zealand Centre at Peking University and was welcomed by the New Zealand Centre Director Professor Liu Shusen and Associate Professor Liu Hongzhong. During the meeting, Professor Liu Shusen introduced the Centre and briefed the work the Centre has been doing during the past few years. Professor Potter thanked the Centre in making his visit possible and expressed hopes to extend the relationship between Massey University and Peking University beyond the exchange of research and learning in the realm of humanities, so as to also include sciences. Professor Potter is Leader of Wildlife and Ecology Group at Massey University. His research has focused on migration biology, conservation biology, foraging and reproductive ecology, animal nutrition, and reproductive and stress physiology. He also holds broader zoological interests, especially for research of an applied nature.

Professor Potter is visiting China for the fifth time. Before his visit to Beijing he attended a conference in Inner Mongolia. Much of his time in this trip has been spent in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, where he has been working out the details of a recently formed agreement between Massey University and Inner Mongolia University for a jointly delivered BSc in Ecology.
