  • NZC Visiting Fellow Dr. Wanglin Ma visits Peking University
     

    24/04/2019 - The New Zealand Centre at Peking University hosted Dr. Wanglin Ma, a lecturer from the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce at Lincoln University, as a Visiting Fellow.
     

    The New Zealand Centre at Peking University was pleased to host Dr. Wanglin Ma, a lecturer from the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce at Lincoln University. Dr. Wanglin Ma arrived at Peking University on 24th February 2019. The first day of his arrival he was warmly received by the Centre liaison interns Mr. Dillon Anderson and Miss Claudia Mason. Dr. Ma was academically hosted by Associate Professor Xiaobing Wang at the China Centre for Agricultural Policy, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking University. The research interests of both of them span over agricultural economics and development economics. During Dr. Ma’s research visit at Peking University, they have been collaborating on two manuscripts, entitled “Internet Use, Green Production Practices, and Rural Household Welfare” and “Internet use and Subject Well-being of Rural Households”, and they are planning to submit them to internationally refereed journals by the end of this year.

    During Dr. Ma’s research visit at Peking University, he was also invited to make presentations in other academic organisations such as Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ministry of Agriculture, Renmin University of China, and Beihang University. The research fellowship definitely provided a very good opportunity for Dr. Ma to share his expertise in China and enable him to help enhance the relationship between New Zealand and Chinese research institutes and universities. The Centre offered logistic facilities to assist Dr. Ma’s research visit. Dr. Ma returned to New Zealand on 29th March 2019.
