    Recent years saw the Peking University Alumni Association enjoy rapid development with an increasing number of established overseas branch associations in many countries. An important new branch is Peking University Alumni Association in New Zealand (PKUAA-NZ), which was established in September 2014 in Auckland.

    As a non-profit, non-political charity group, PKUAA-NZ aims at maintaining and promoting the friendship between PUK alumni, playing the role as a platform for sharing resources and information among PUK alumni, and enhancing cultural and academic exchanges between New Zealand and China.

    At the first convention of PKUAA-NZ, which was attended by nearly 60 PKU alumni, Lin Yisong (Undergraduate of the Department of National Politics in 1986, and Graduate student of the School of Economics in 1999) was elected as the inaugural president of PKUAA-NZ, and Li Wei (Undergraduate of the Department of Mathematics in 1999) and Xin Shengtong (Undergraduate of the Department of Society in 2002) were elected vice presidents.
